Since the opening of Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport a couple of years ago and huge improvements in the highway system, getting to Pattaya is easier than ever. The new airport is located between Bangkok and Pattaya; therefore much closer to Pattaya than the old one and trips to Pattaya completely avoiding Bangkok traffic.
Currently, expect approx. 1.5 hours from the airport to Siam Royal View driving comfortably.
On the Pattaya side, the highway is currently being extended right into the center of Pattaya and close to the Siam Royal View property, reducing the travel time between the Siam Royal View development and the airport or Bangkok further. Completion is expected in early 2010.
It is possible to hire a taxi or a limousine for a bargain price, drive your own vehicle or hop on an air conditioned bus to take you directly to Pattaya.

- From Bangkok: You can reach Pattaya by car in less than two hours (about 120 km) by travelling either along Bangna-Trat Highway via Bang Pakong, Chonburi and Sri Racha. It is even quicker if you avoid Chonburi by turning onto Highway 36 or take the elevated motorway from Rama 9 Road in Bangkok which also leads to Highway 36 near Chonburi.
- From Suvarnabhumi Airport: Take a similar route as from Bangkok, with travel time of less than one and a half hour.

- From Suvarnabhumi Airport: Comfortable taxis with set fares are available at the taxi queue (avoid touts inside the airport), that will drive you all the way to Pattaya in less than one and a half hours for about 1200 baht (Eur 25, USD 35). Limousines are more expensive but more comfortable and can be hired at airport kiosks. Low-priced first-class buses are also available at the airport’s Public Transportation Centre departing about every two hours and terminating at Pattaya bus station, but will also drop you off at other places in town on request.
- From Bangkok: A meter taxi can be ordered (or in some cases flagged down) in Bangkok to drive you the whole distance door to door in Pattaya. The trip costs about 1500 baht (Eur 33, USD 43) and takes less than two hours. Air conditioned Buses depart every 30 minutes from the Eastern Bus Terminal in Bangkok from 5am to 10pm, though it is important to take the express bus, which travels on the expressway and takes about 2 hours. The State Railway of Thailand offers a daily train service departing from Hualumphong Station at 6:50am and takes four to five hours - scenic but slow.
